In the Buddha's Words (Wisdom Publications, ISBN: 0861714911) is an anthology of the Buddha’s discourses from the Pali Canon compiled by the American scholar-monk Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi. The anthology arranges the Buddha’s discourses into a systematic framework that corresponds with the Buddha’s own method of teaching. The book has been described as “the definitive introduction to the Buddha’s teachings.” One reviewer even wrote, “If someone relatively new to Buddhism were to buy only one book, this should be it!”

Between 2007 and 2009, Ven. Bodhi gave forty-five lectures on In the Buddha’s Words, exploring each chapter and text in detail. His lectures were recorded and have all been collected on the present CD. This disk thus offers a uniquely authoritative overview of the Buddha’s own teachings, at once comprehensive and detailed. It should appeal to both relative newcomers to Buddhism and seasoned practitioners who want to drink from the most ancient fountainhead of the Dharma.
