Feverish Urge

Venerable Bhikkhu Samahita.

In message: 'What is contact!' there is mentioned fever...!!!
What is meant by that?
'From the diversity of desires arises the diversities of fevers.'
Could you explain what the fevers are?

Thanks. Kama Namgyal Nima Ozer.

A good question!

When one wants to see something, the feverish urge
of craving for sights arises and dominates the mind ...

When one wants to hear something, the feverish urge
of craving for sounds arises and dominates the mind ...

When one wants to smell something, the feverish urge
of craving for odours arises and dominates the mind ...

When one wants to taste something, the feverish urge
of craving for flavours arises and dominates the mind ...

When one wants to touch something, the feverish urge
of craving for touches arises and dominates the mind ...

When one wants to think something, the feverish urge
of craving for ideas or certain mental states arises and
dominates the mind ...

Often unnoticed this happens all the time momentarily...
Desire manifests itself whenever consciousness 'lands'
and dwells on a new object many times each second...
Please notice that in each moment:
'Now there is wanting in me for this, now for that ....'

This is what is meant by the diversity of fevers ...
